Chennai, popolosa città del Sud dell’India, nelle ultime settimane è stata violentemente colpita da alluvioni ed inondazioni, causate da quello che gli esperti ritengono sia il più violento fenomeno atmosferico dell’ultimo secolo.
Con oltre 300 morti e migliaia di cittadini evacuati dalle proprie abitazioni, la città è completamente in ginocchio, sommersa dall’acqua e dal fango, con strade inagibili, ospedali ed infrastrutture fuori servizio, senza corrente elettrica e con piogge battenti che non accennano a placarsi.
In questa quadro di devastazione e dolore, lo Sri Prema Sai Organization è stato subito operativo a Chennai, per portare soccorso ai bisognosi ed aiutare chi si trovasse in difficoltà.
In quel momento non c’è stato tempo per una raccolta di materiali, bisognava invece trovare fondi, in una corsa contro il tempo, per essere efficaci nel soccorso della popolazione, subito e senza sprechi.
Per questo motivo lo Sri Prema Sai Organization ha attivato una raccolta fondi utilizzati per il soccorso immediato e concreto di una popolazione ormai allo stremo.

Un abbraccio di Auguri…
Grazie al vostro sostegno e all’aiuto del buon Dio, in questi ultimi giorni, siamo riusciti a dare speranza, e, a rendere felici altre 1341 famiglie vittime dell’alluvione in Chennai. E’ stato un anno piuttosto difficile, crisi, catastrofi e guerre, hanno seminato paura, terrore e migliaia di vittime innocenti…
Tanti sono stati colpiti da una violenta crisi economica, famigliare ed emotiva. Alcuni sono stati colpiti anche, da una forte crisi spirituale. Molte persone con spirito di sacrifico hanno dovuto sopportare il peso del proprio fardello, e molti hanno dovuto accettare il proprio destino, in bene e in male… Mi rendo conto che le prove della vita sono tante, e la vita per qualcuno è stata piuttosto dura. Ogni giorno ci viene chiesto impegno e sacrificio, ogni giorno la vita , ci chiede nuove prove da dover superare, nuove sfide e nuove obiettivi da raggiungere. Non vi nascondo che nulla è facile in questo mondo, e le difficoltà non mancano mai…La vita ci sorprende sempre, talvolta anche, con successi e soddisfazioni …!

Non solo a Natale, ma ogni giorno, stringete tra le vostre braccia i vostri cari, e le persone a cui volete bene, non fategli mancare mai il vostro abbraccio. Che sia un forte abbraccio, genuino e colmo d’amore, e soprattutto contagioso, in quanto, questo è l’abbraccio che io vorrei dare ad ognuno di voi per questo Santo Natale… e affrontare insieme il Nuovo Anno. Anche se il futuro può sembrare incerto, non importa in quanto, se vivi l’oggi con intensità, amore e libertà, sappi che, e come essere vissuti in eterno…. Lasciamoci sorprendere dalla bellezza della vita.

La bellezza del servizio…
…Dopo aver ascoltato la loro drammatica storia, mi sono offerto di aiutarli…, gli ho anche trovato una sistemazione provvisoria nella chiesa, in quanto, dormivano in una tenda di fortuna. Dopo questo incontro e, nel mentre continuavo a distribuire aiuti alle centinaia di persone che continuavano ad arrivare da ogni parte, pensavo alle parole del Maestro, “…l’ideale del servizio e la pulsione interiore di attuarlo, è il cuore stesso colmo d’amore. L’amore puro è la sua massima manifestazione. Quando decidete di fare del servizio, recatevi nei posti in cui potete trovare i poveri e, portate loro il messaggio della speranza e della forza nei loro cuori. Siate loro grati quando vi accolgono e vi danno la possibilità di servirli . Non importa quante persone riuscirete a sfamare, forse, dieci, cento o mille, sappiate che avete dato un esempio di bontà e di amore e, con il tempo altri seguiranno queste gesta d’amore…La vostra felicità dipende dalla loro , siate amorevoli e orgogliosi di servire loro, perché lo stesso Sai che risiede in voi, risiede in loro. Io sarò al vostro fianco, lavorando gomito a gomito con voi e, sarò orgoglioso di voi . Questa è la preghiera che apprezzo di più. Attraverso il servizio, preparate la via della Verità e della Rettitudine. Ricordatevi che, Dio è il rifugio di quelli che non hanno un posto dove riposare. Siate consapevoli che siete amore in azione. La consapevolezza è vita e quindi, siate consapevoli della vostra innata forza e gloria interiore…”

Pensieri, parole e azioni…
In questi giorni, grazie all’aiuto della polizia e all’intervento del buon Dio, siamo riusciti a dare soccorso a 2210 famiglie alluvionate. Famiglie che hanno perso anche quel po’ che gli era rimasto, la violenza dell’acqua gli ha portato via tutto… Nella zona più colpita di Chennai, Saidepet e i suoi sobborghi, Madhavaram, Ottechery, Velachery, Tambaram la gente è raggruppata in alloggi improvvisati o meglio dire di fortuna…
In questi e in altri villaggi ci sono molte persone che sono o troppo vecchie o troppo deboli o con qualche difetto fisico, zoppi, sordi, ciechi o poliomielitici che, trovano difficile trovare i mezzi di sussistenza. Alcuni di loro hanno anche famiglia a cui badare. Ciò che essi sono capaci di racimolare è veramente inadeguato e in special modo in questi giorni che i prezzi sono saliti alle stelle… Il solo momento in cui queste persone possono dimenticare questi pensieri e questa tragedia è quando la sera si riuniscono e vengono presso il nostro campo a ritirare cibo e tutto ciò che hanno bisogno, fornelli per cucinare, pentole, riso, dhal, farina e olio, latte e biscotti per i bimbi… mentre distribuiamo, osservo i loro volti, i loro occhi tristi e ci si sente impotenti difronte a tanta disperazione…! Ma nel contempo mi rendo conto che, con l’umiltà e l’amore, e con il rispetto verso coloro che serviamo, riusciamo ad elevare l’umanità dell’uomo e farlo sentire vivo…

Servizio con Amore…
Tanta sofferenza tra la gente, e qui a Chennai, dopo l’alluvione, tristezza e desolazione dominano l’individuo e l’aria che si respira…
Bisogna scoprire perché nel mondo d’oggi accadono cose terribili. Pare che ciò sia dovuto alla carenza di abnegazione e Amore per sé stessi e verso gli altri…
Solo l’amore e il servizio irrobustiscono la mente e l’intelligenza, mettendo l’individuo nelle condizioni di agire correttamente .
“…è la dedizione agli altri che condurrà l’individuo ai livelli più elevati della vita. Si può entrare in relazione con gli altri solo mediante l’Amore … ”
L’amore è il fattore primario di questo processo…l’Amore è tutto!

Il servizio, è azione d’amore…
Quando la natura si ribella, occorre agire con Amore… tante sono le vittime di questa catastrofe a Chennai -India, e in questi casi non vi è tempo di pensare, occorre solo agire. Noi abbiamo deciso di esserci e aiutare queste persone in difficoltà…

Chennai, a densely populated city in South India over the last few weeks has been violently hit by floods, produced by what experts consider the most violent storms of the last hundred years.
With more than 300 dead and thousands evacuated, the town is completely on its knees, submerged by water and mud, with impassable streets, hospitals and infrastructures out of service, without electricity and with driving rain which does not look like it is going to stop soon.
In this scene of destruction and pain, Luigi Ferrante, President of the Sri Prema Sai Organization ONLUS is already operational in Chennai to bring relief to poor and help people in difficulty.
In this moment there is no time to gather goods, we have to raise funds in a race against time to be efficient in helping people soon and without waste.

A hug of greeting…
Thanks to your support and the help of God, in these last days, we were able to give hope, and, to make happy the other 1,341 families victims of the flood in Chennai. It ‘was a rather difficult year, crises, disasters and wars, they have sown fear, terror and thousands of innocent victims…
Many were hit by a violent economic crisis, family and emotional. Some have also been affected by a strong spiritual crisis. Many people with a spirit of sacrifice they had to bear the weight of his burden, and many had to accept their fate, for good and bad… I realize that the trials of life are many, and life to someone is rather hard. Every day we are asked to sacrifice and commitment, every day life, we have to ask for new evidence to overcome, new challenges and new goals. I will not conceal that nothing is easy in this world, and the difficulties are never lacking… Life always surprises us, sometimes with success and satisfaction …!

The beauty of the service…
…After listening to their dramatic story, I offered to help them…, I also found a temporary arrangement in the church, as they slept in a makeshift tent. After this meeting and, in as I continued to distribute aid to the hundreds of people who continued to arrive from all over, I thought of the words of the Master, “… the ideal of service and the inner compulsion to implement it, is the very heart filled d ‘ love. Pure love is its greatest manifestation. When you decide to do the service, go to places where you can find the poor and bring them the message of hope and strength in their hearts. Be thankful when they welcome you and give you the opportunity to serve them. No matter how many people manage to feed, maybe, ten, a hundred or a thousand, know that you gave an example of kindness and love, and by the time others will follow these deeds of love … Your happiness depends on them, be loving, proud to serve them, because the same Sai that resides in you resides in them. I will be at your side, working side by side with you and I will be proud of you. This is the prayer I like best. Through the service, prepare the way of truth and righteousness. Remember, God is the refuge of those who do not have a place to rest. Be aware that you are love in action. Awareness is life and therefore, be aware of your innate inner strength and glory … “

Thoughts, words and actions…
These days, with the help of the police and the intervention of God, we were able to give relief to 2,210 families affected by flooding. Families who have lost what little he had left, the force of the water took away everything… In the most affected area of Chennai, Saidepet and its suburbs, Madhavaram, Ottechery, Velachery, Tambaram people is grouped in makeshift accommodation or better fortune telling…
In these and other villages there are many people who are either too old or too weak, or with some physical defect, lame, deaf, blind or with polio that are hard to find livelihoods. Some of them also have families to look after. What they are able to scrape together is really inappropriate and especially these days that prices have soared… The only time these people can forget these thoughts and this tragedy is when the evening come together and are at our field to collect food and everything they need, cooking stoves, pots, rice, dhal, flour, oil, milk and cookies for the kids… and we distribute, I look at their faces, their eyes sad and you feel powerless in front of so much despair…! But at the same time I realize that, with humility and ‘love, and with respect to those we serve, we can elevate the humanity of man and make him feel alive…

Service with Love…
So much suffering among the people, and here in Chennai, after the flood, desolation and sadness dominate the individual and the air we breathe …
We must find out why in the world today terrible things happen. It seems that this is due to the lack of self-denial and love for oneself and for others …
Only love and service strengthen, the mind and intelligence, putting the individual in a position to act correctly.
“… It is the dedication that lead the individual to higher levels of life. You can get in touch with others only through love … “
Love is the primary factor in this process … Love it!
